Mooradian Studio

Bodney Road, London

Details of a residential home by London based architecture and design practice Mooradian.

The project is characterised by an aesthetic of ‘economy-of-means’: not using materials where they don’t need to be used, keeping and celebrating the eccentric features of the building, leaving some materials raw and exposed, designing with sheet materials in an economical way, and making simple cuts into surfaces to bring in light or allow new uses. This aesthetic grew out of the architect’s sustainable approach to building – less is truly more when designing sustainably. The project is a testament to how simple material choices and design moves can transform existing spaces.
